چکیده
Glycine is an important biomarker in clinical analysis due to its involvement multiple physiological processes. As such, the need for low-cost analytical tools glycine detection growing. a neurotransmitter, involved inhibitory and excitatory neurochemical transmission central nervous system. In this work, we present 10 μM Pt-based electrochemical enzymatic biosensor localized real time measurements of glycine. This relies on amperometric readout does not require additional redox mediators. The was characterized applied real-time from cells, mainly HEK 293 cells primary rat astrocytes. Taken together, study demonstrates oxidase based useful extracting pertinent information about levels wide range biological contexts.

Glycine-extended gastrin enhances somatostatin release from cultured rabbit fundic D-cells
The role of the peptide hormone gastrin in stimulating gastric acid secretion is well established. Mature amidated gastrin is processed from larger peptide precursor forms. Increasingly these processing intermediates, such as glycine-extended gastrin (G-Gly) and progastrin, have been shown to have biological activities of their own, often separate and complementary to gastrin. Although G-Gly is...
متن کاملStructure-function correlation in glycine oxidase from Bacillus subtilis.
Structure-function relationships of the flavoprotein glycine oxidase (GO), which was recently proposed as the first enzyme in the biosynthesis of thiamine in Bacillus subtilis, has been investigated by a combination of structural and functional studies. The structure of the GO-glycolate complex was determined at 1.8 A, a resolution at which a sketch of the residues involved in FAD binding and i...
متن کاملGlycine and Glycine Receptor Signalling in Non-Neuronal Cells
Glycine is an inhibitory neurotransmitter acting mainly in the caudal part of the central nervous system. Besides this neurotransmitter function, glycine has cytoprotective and modulatory effects in different non-neuronal cell types. Modulatory effects were mainly described in immune cells, endothelial cells and macroglial cells, where glycine modulates proliferation, differentiation, migration...
متن کاملGlycine receptors and brain development
Glycine receptors (GlyRs) are ligand-gated chloride ion channels that mediate fast inhibitory neurotransmission in the spinal cord and the brainstem. There, they are mainly involved in motor control and pain perception in the adult. However, these receptors are also expressed in upper regions of the central nervous system, where they participate in different processes including synaptic neurotr...
متن کاملGlycine receptors in cultured chick sympathetic neurons are excitatory and trigger neurotransmitter release.
1. Total RNA isolated from embryonic chick paravertebral sympathetic ganglia was used in a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay with a pair of degenerate oligonucleotide primers deduced from conserved regions of mammalian glycine receptor alpha-subunits. Three classes of cDNA were identified which encode portions of the chicken homologues of the mammalian glycine recep...
